Apprenticeships

The GateWay Apprenticeship program connects the student with participating organizations to allow the student to earn a living and a college education at the same time, while receiving selected benefits from the employer. There are 14 Apprenticeship programs from which to choose and, depending upon the program, students will receive a Journeyman Card upon completion.

Bricklayer & Tile Setter

Bricklayers and Tile Setters install brick and tiles on interior and exterior building projects.

carpenter

Carpenter

Carpenters construct commercial, residential, heavy highway, and interior systems using wood, metal, and concrete.

electrician

Electrician

Learn how to install and maintain the inside wiring for lights and distribution systems in residential, industrial, and commercial structures, often working side-by-side with trained professionals.

heat & frost

Heat & Frost Insulator

The members of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers mentor students who are learning to install thermal insulation of pipes, ducts, boilers, vessels, and fire-stopping throughout commercial and industrial facilities.

ironworker

Ironworker

Ironworkers erect steel skeletons for buildings, window wall and curtain exteriors, and rig heavy machinery to aid in the construction of large commercial facilities.

millwrights

Millwrights

Working side-by-side with members of the Arizona Millwright Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, learn to install large and oversized equipment for industrial and production facilities.

painter & drywall taper

Painter & Drywall Taper

Discover the techniques of the trade in applying drywall tape, paint, and finish for residential, commercial, and industrial structures.

pipefitter & seamfitter

Pipefitter & Steamfitter

Learn how to install piping and environmental systems, and package and large tonnage refrigeration units for commercial and industrial facilities.

plaster & cement mason

Plasterer & Cement Mason

As a plasterer and cement mason you will work with concrete and flatwork; assist in construction of roadwork, bridges, and dams, as well as interior and exterior stucco EFIS wall finishings.

plumber

Plumber

Course work includes safety procedures in shop and field work, materials selection, and the installation of plumbing systems. Installation procedures for special projects such as swimming pools and sprinklers are also a part of the curriculum.

Roofers

Through the Arizona Roofers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, roofers install a variety of roofing systems for residential and commercial structures.

sheetmetal workers

Sheetmetal Workers

Master the techniques needed to manufacture and install ductwork and vents for commercial and industrial structures.
